Sound Advice For the Short and the Long Haul
☘ Here are some self-care recommendations that you can use to keep yourself calm, healthy, and resilient as we combat the coronavirus:
Pray. It will be by God's grace that we get through this challenging time in our lives. Remember that "Our God is so great, so strong, and so mighty - there is nothing our God cannot do!" Keep a positive attitude, as it fosters the foundation of a robust immune system, and it is the mark of a believer! If ever there was a magic pill, it is breathing properly. Inhale through the nose to the count of 4, hold for the count of 7 and then exhale through the mouth to the count of 8. Repeat it four times, twice daily. This simple exercise can keep your nervous system healthy and calm. As you plan your day, make safe choices, guided by facts. The now famous term "social distancing" is sound advice, but keep living while using your common sense and good judgment. Thoroughly wash your handsevery time you come in from the outside, every time you go to the bathroom, and any time you think about it. Remember that your cell phone is one of the dirtiest objects with which your hands will come in contact. It is now safe to use antibacterial wipes on your screens, so be certain that you keep your screen clean. Get enough sleep. Nourish yourself. Limit or avoid sugar and alcohol, so that your body is operating from a place of lower inflammation. This will boost your immune system and lower your overall stress level. Consider taking supplements, such as Vitamin C, Vitamin D, and Vitamin A. Olive Leaf Extract is also a good immunity system booster.
Create a windfall as there is a new opportunity to strengthen your relationships. Time is the most precious commodity you have, and suddenly there is time to spend with those you love the most! Make it count.
