October 1 was the Feast of the Protection of the Most Holy Mother of God. "Through the prayers of the Mother of God, O Savior, save us."
And on October 2, the Western rite of our Catholic Church celebrated the Feast of the Guardian Angels. This official acknowledgment of the presence of angels by the church is comforting and an expression of faith in God's enduring love for His children. He gave each one of us our own invisible, powerful and all-present companion to guide, guard, console and encourage us throughout our time on this earth. When we struggle, our angel gives us light and strength. Our Guardian Angel continually prays for us, and presents our souls to God at the hour of our death. How awesome is that?
